in their classic period though, the first two albums were the most inconsistent if i had to pick

I'd say their debut was one of their more consistent albums actually. It was with Bruce that their albums became a bit inconsistent. The only one that was really badly effected by the inconsistency was Piece of Mind though.

Agree on that, but PoM inconsistent? No way that's true. Statements or it didn't happen.

Quest for Fire probably, maybe Sun and Steel as well... when compared to let's say Revelations.

Well, two less good songs don't apply for an inconsistent album. Those two are really not as good as the others but inconsistent is a big word.

Well it wasn't me who made the statement :P , I just guessed on what the extenuation might be. I like Piece of Mind

Inconsistent is the perfect word to describe Piece of Mind. Some amazing songs and 3 songs (Quest For Fire, Sun and Steel and Die With Your Boots On) that are nowhere near the level of those amazing ones and that are actually pretty average for Maiden's standards.

And I like Piece of Mind too, it rules, I never said it didn't.

you were 2/3 correct because Die With Your Boots On is such a great and uplifting song. And I thought something is inconsistent when, well, I don't know, at least 50% is no sub par to the rest.

He used the term "inconsistent" with regard to 80s Maiden standards.

Die With Your Boots On is the best of the 3 but its chorus is so stupid. And nah inconsistent doesn't relate to a specific amount or portion of something being below the standard of the rest, it just means it's not of the same quality throughout.

Somewhere in Time is more inconsistent than Piece of Mind. Prefer Piece of Mind as a whole tbh

Funny thing, both albums contain 2 songs I don't dig and one I kinda dig.

Guys... truth be told, when it pertains to lyrics, you can find a couple of "awkward" tunes in most Maiden albums

Adrian is a lo-profile cooll guy with brilliant ideas. Didn't work out when he was onhis own though.
