I found the vocals off putting at first but it's growing on me

“The singer has the stage presence of a child who lost his mother at Walmart”
Yeah, something about these guys not taking themselves so seriously hinders me from taking them that seriously but I’m sure that’s intentional. It’s quality noise rock, either way.

I love that they don't take themselves too seriously, it adds to the bleakness of the music and the lyrics. You know how they say that young people use irony to tackle the dread of living in the modern world, Chat Pile gives me similar vibes.

I guess I prefer unfiltered grim-dark, no-light-escapes style pretentious bleakness in my heavy shit if I’m choosing, but that’s me.

Masc is such an unflinchingly, painfully honest song. What an album too.

Got the clear with gold splatter vinyl variant of this, hand numbered apparently too. Stoked

That’s tight.
I really wish I dug this as much as everyone else seems to, I honestly think even one of the EPs is better than this, and Gods Country easily clears it imo

Accurate take, I can respect this as a sophomore so this really is what we're about statement that leaves the door open for a later career peak, but it doesn't get the pulse racing anything like as much as GC or the Remove Your Skin Plz highlights

Well put and that’s literally the EP I was talking about too.
I wasnt expecting something like radically different or anything but yeah it just doesn’t hit for me like either of those.

Generally I agree that God's Country > this but wow Masc and The New World are simply awesome

knew he was in the band but didn’t know which member he was. Has anyone harassed him at a show yet?
If I was ever in a band I would keep my sput account far away from it lol

CP are good dudes, and they’re making killer music. It makes me happy to see that we love them here in their hometown, and I hope their new-found higher profile will drum up more interest in other kickass bands we have here in OKC.
Masc is the shit.

Hell yeah. The Swans influence over this one are so awesome. It always makes me grin.

Tbf he was on here like half a decade before he formed the band, and even longer before they became legitimately popular. I don't think it's something he predicted ever happening when he was being politically incorrect on the internet to kill time in his 20s.

I'd count Tape in it as well for the best three-song run of the year.
