Dan said something like "Big shout out to Vessel from Sleep Token." And the dude hugged a bunch of people around him (not me cause he was trying to fight me) and headed backstage. If anyone else was at the Denver show I'd love to know if I just misheard.

I remember some nonbeliever trying to talk me down on one of the Deity Tompkins' previous works on outings.
Well wretched land dweller, The proof is clear as the sun shines upon ye!
Thy lord Daniel Tompkins hath SAAANNGG!!!!
He comes in with this deeper scream than I've ever heard from his chops! Then he swings it more into the falsetto than ever before. Then he pulls out the divine GROWLS!!!! SINCE WHEN?
And in-between he's accessing his fellow brethren atop the Holy Mountain of Sonic Deities. There the Chester Bennington, Michael Jackson! MORE!
All while not only emoting as the theme demands, but do I hear a note of enjoyment!?
The call has ben sent. Lowly nonbeliever, keep your nose to the sand, while those of us who see the greatness embrace the luscious sonics of thine lord, Daniel Tompkins

"Heard about how these guys want to take a cut of the profits from their merch worker. That wouldn’t fly back in my day crazy how times have changed."
Pretty sure that was taken way out of context (and poorly worded perhaps), and was them clarifying how the tip jar at the merch table is not for the bands but the guys literally "running the table" to those who thought it was the other way around lol.
If you wanna support the band, they have their avenues, and that aint it.

I'm honestly pretty happy that whole thing went down, which was the general vibe from my friend group and anyone else I have hard from, because I now I know not to casually tip when I buy my T-shirts. I don't give a fuck about the merch guys. Best of luck to them in that hussle, but they aren't getting a tip for handing me some merch. Tip jars used to populate merch stands saying "buy us weed" or "cheeseburger fund or w/e, with the full understanding that this was for the band. So, now I know.
Also, RE Dan in frontman mode - I agree. He always kinda looked like a dork on stage, but he's definitely gotten much more involved and is getting quite good at activating the crowd.

Seriously impressive, I always loved Dan's vocals but this is next level even for him. The rest of the band play in full force too, never showing signs of letting up. Would have loved one more mellow track in the album, although the it is already full of melodic, emotional peaks and valleys.
Can't wait to see them in Munich in early february.

I’m still not convinced Periphery Pete isn’t just Greg Puciato with a Sleep Token mask on tbh

Dan's vocal style changes on War of Being are something to behold. What a singer.

I've had this and Dødheimsgard fighting for the #1 spot, but I think this edges it out in the end. What an immense album and I couldn't be happier as a massive fan of the band for years.

The Night Verses is pretty damn clutch. I'm really glad their releasing it as two separate albums because I feel like, while their music is really engaging, too much of it to digest would mean a lot of cool moments get lost in the noise.

I prefer Night Verses, personally, but I guess lately I get annoyed a lot by modern vocal effects and obvious studio magic. It just takes away from the experience in a way that doesn't work so obviously for the instrumentation somehow. Does this make sense?
Yea, this holds up VERY well. They got their shit together here. I hope it's not a fluke

Anyone here had a VIP ticket to the show? I hear they play acoustic versions of Sirens and April which sounds pretty damn cool. Even more stoked for the show now.
Regarding AotY, yeah this one is my favorite too. Not much I've listened to this year that can match this in scope and quality.

"Yep already over this as expected, sound is just very stale at this point, Dan's vocal acrobatics the only thing still semi interesting"
Yep genuinely sounds like Dudes Making Random Djent Sounds With Excellent Vocals: The Album, to me. If this was my intro to the band/genre I'd probably go hard as fuck on it though.
