Imagine if Sabbath did a tour where they played their first 6 albums in full.

Given the amount of ratings I'm amazed it has that much less pages than Paranoid and MoR

Yeah, it's not as popular as Paranoid or Master.

Paranoid and MoR are easily their most popular but are they more influential than this one?

Yes, definitely.

I don't think the answer is very easy. In terms sales, Paranoid comes first while it includes three of their most well known tracks. Master of Reality is the blueprint for doom/stoner. However, this is the one that started everything and is arguably the first heavy metal album. So for me this is the most influential and its t/t is the main reason for that.

Its hard to say which of the first 3 is the most influential. This has just as much blues in it as metal, while Paranoid was metal through and through. I guess it depends on the band/genre, because MoR is easily the most influential of the 3 on doom/stoner/sludge metal bands.

I haven't decided on a favorite Sabbath album yet, but I know for a fact it's one of the first 3

I think my favorite is Paranoid with MoR only just behind it.

Yeah their first 3 are probably the best. I've come to like SBS almost as much as this though, so it could be top 3.
