This needs a reissue with the title track opening the album, that's easily my favorite moment on this album and it's not even an official track.

If you dont like the sound and give it a awful rating I understand. But I dont get blatantly hating the band. Are they cocky like Jari or something?

I mean they seem like nice guys and all but you gotta be a grade-A headass to write songs like these

pls explain

Ok, so I reply a post of this girl who got a tattoo of some lyrics of a Nick Cave song and I told her that "Well, every person who is into Nick Cave got my full respect" and she sent me a private message. The conversation with her was going really well. Until I told her that I was into gojira. She wanted to know about the band so first she searched for the stranded video. Didn't like it. Told her that their last album wasn't their best to get into. I sent her the song uroboros. Didn't like it either. She is basically into many genres, but she's not into metal very much. I went nuts. I needed a better impression to let her know that I wasn't the average metalhead that only listens to metal. So I sent her the first verse of the song. And the chat went uphills from that point on.

These guys were very good when I saw them live at a fest back in 2011, so much energy.

Cedric is basically a psycho onstage. I don't know how much energy he puts nowadays but in the atd-i concerts he went apeshit.

Cedric went crazy when I saw ATD-I last year, his vox are kind of screwed nowadays but he definitely brought tons of energy to the show.

@kompy I feel like thats the attraction though. Who the fuck is Frances the Mute? Why the fuck would anybody be getting de-loused in a comatorium? What even is a comatorium? It's a bunch of weird words thrown together and they sound p cool.

Holy shit. I literally expected a life or death story and it was nothing. I am filled with disappointment.

And yeah, Cedric is still crazy on stage. I saw them at Riot Fest even though I was planning on skipping ATDI so I could watch who knows what and my friends convinced me to watch them and goddamn it was amazing.

"It's a bunch of weird words thrown together and they sound p cool."

That's what annoys me so much though. Anyone can find a bunch of smart-sounding words and ad-lib nonsense for 70 minutes. If that's your thing more power to ya, but that lyrical approach just seems so vapid and lazy to me. And fwiw I feel like that approach is very much mirrored in the instrumentation and even in the production a bit.

Anyone can do it sure but its a legitimate style. Everything seems off the cuff or spontaneous, but this shit is not lazy. I've listened to enough music to know that these guys dont rely on tropes to make their music. Every note seems deeply sophisticated and purposefully placed there even tho it may sound chaotic sometimes. Maybe its vapid to you but maybe it just went over your head. There is a story here that starts with looking at the album cover and is continued through the lyrics and the music to the last song.

I don't know about "went over my head", but it's clear you and other followers of the Volta hear something in there that I'm either unwilling or unable to :/ All comes down to preference my dude.

Yeah I feel that. Can I ask, how do you feel about the song Inertiatic Esp from Deloused? Assuming youve heard the album b4
