@mrglass their debut is actually an all time fav of mine (another album that I 5’d and I don’t 5 often). Both albums are great and they’re criminally underrated. Those guys were sooo talented in every way

EAPZ's debut is bonkers. Tree was more streamlined for sure which I prefer as a whole, but that first album is some of the most boundless, creative prog-core ever put to tape. RIP amazing band

but yeah back to Greyhaven - this keeps growing a lot. probably gonna bump to a 4.5 soon. as a whole, this album feels more dense than their last to me, so the repeat listens have really been necessary. finally getting my vinyl in the mail today too. pumped

Of Snakes and Swans has quickly become one of my favorites here. Fuckin great song. The guitarwork is great, the chorus is great, it has some heavy moments along with melodic *chef's kiss*

the end of Of Snakes is one of my favorite moments on the entire record. Slows down and gets even heavier, and all I wanna do is headbang.

I just love his voice man lol. Dude can sing his ass off. I love when they have some heavier riffs behind his singing voice I think it's a cool contrast

Some people say his cleans are buttrock-ish but man I just don't hear it. A slight grunge vibe maybe but nobody can deny how much he kicks ass.

"Generally speaking, this album doesn’t sound like anything in ETID catalogue the guitar work, the emphasis on catchy choruses for nearly every song, and the vocals in general"
I only heard ETIDs last record, and there are some pretty obvious similarities, but by no means are Greyhaven just copying ETID. They have their own sound. Like I said, I can also hear elements of Norma Jean and then just some unique stuff that they bring to the table. Also, the vocals in general are heaps better than ETID and maybe even better than Norma Jean's, although I love Corey's vox.

A PAINFUL AND NECESSARY ACTION, FOREIGN ANCHOR, FED TO THE LIGHTS... probably top 3 right now. I'm enjoying how they blend the lighter / heavy elements of their sound in unexpected ways whilst remaining cohesive, oftentimes during the same song. Cool.
And yeah I don't think these guys are copying ETID or anything, just finding it difficult not hearing any likenesses, especially when I'm a fan of that band and literally discovered these guys the other day. Depends on your perspective. With time I feel Greyhaven could eventually sound more distinct.
