Yea if Black Cathedral developed into a nasty blackened doom song I think it'd fit but the album's long enough as it is.

"I don’t like Black Cathedral simply because it doesn’t lead into anything, really wish it did... without anything to go from it it just feels pointless"

In the context of the album I agree yeah. I think they could totally open a show with it if they wanted tho... like black cathedral with some feedback into like new millennium cyanide christ would be sick

Chiming in on Cathedral, also wish it was a full song.

And yeah, Below is pretty cool song on its own but being 10 minutes and sitting right smack I'm the middle of the album AND immediately preceding some of the best stuff on it is just odd. Throws me off. It's good to zone out to though. And then Kaleidescope kicks you in the face again.

Yet I do mega miss Jens in Below, especially when they do go all out on their usual riffing after about 2 and a half minutes. Would have preferred an all clean track, now it's just a long track without Jens.

Quite a few people seem to have disdain towards his atonal vocals so that's the track for them lol.

This has always been super weird to me because Jens is like top 5 metal vocalists for me lol

He just sounds so much more menacing than like anyone, like he's a machine that's gonna eat my face

I got into meshuggah because of the insane drumming, and stayed for the vocals, I love his tone and sound

what if this is immediately my new fave Meshuggah album eh

i love their more fleshed-out moments, They Move Below is bliss, feels like there's times where every musician in the band is playing a different note for maybe the first time I can think of

i know it's a softening of their sound but that's good
