I know this other story. You want to hear MINE, now? It's about this couple, and they're walking in the woods. It's a husband and wife. And there's an animal far off in this distance. The husband knows what it is: it's a coyote. And yet the wife sees it and immediately says it's a fox. She's so sure: "It's a fox!" she says. "It's a fox!"

JOSHUA (somewhat confused)

Okay...

MARINA

And the husband is confused and frustrated with this, because to him it's so clearly a coyote. "Look," he says. "Come on. Can't you see? That's, like, BLATANTLY a coyote. Just look at it!" and they go back and forth about this for minutes, the coyote or fox or whatever remaining the same distance from them the entire time, just far enough within their field of vision that the ambiguity required by this little story can be sustained.

JOSHUA

(nodding sagely, a bit ironically) Okay.



MARINA

And as they continue on, arguing about whether the animal is a fox or a coyote, the husband starts to notice himself wearing down, his wife wearing down. They've been emotionally exhausted by each other, or are quickly getting there. The problem is implacable: they clearly see different things. But something turns in the husband and he decides to make an important decision. He knows he loves his wife. He knows he wants to be with her. He knows she's more important to him than anything else in the whole wide world. So he turns to his wife, and he says, "You're right, honey. I see it now. That IS a fox."

Joshua, when seen again, is clearly about to burst into tears.

when this site got hacked it honestly shocked me how much I cared about it, before realising that however much we all shittalk the site so many of us love it as well and there's nothing else like it today. that could have been almost 20 years of posting, chatting, all kinds of hilarious shit just lost in an instant. lots of us were very sad at that (and im sure you were too). it was one thing when colton initially made a flippant joke about doing it and was just told that its maybe not the time bud. its another for him to have persistently taken it further and further despite being told not to and claiming to have hired people to do it when lots of us were pretty distressed about the situation. it may seem a little sad to care about this site that deeply, but repeatedly antagonising and screaming for attention against those of us who were already in a shit mood and then martyring himself when he got banned despite multiple warnings and playing the victim really has not endeared him to anyone. i and multiple people have said if he wants to take a break, come back in a few months and apologise like most users who get banned for dumb shit do then i'll accept it pending a demonstrated change in behaviour, but he just keeps going and picking fights with people every day on new alts. its not endearing himself to anyone and he just keeps driving a bigger and bigger hole between everyone else and him. he needs to grow up and just accept he did wrong but he does none of that.



so its not about whether he hacked the site or not, its about how he continues and continues to ignore everyone else's feelings and fails to take any accountability whatsoever. it honestly does upset me a lot.
