that fill is wild, I'm kind of a sucker for a fill that goes beyond the downbeat and it absolutely works there

yea the drumming strangely stands out on this album. unusual for the genre. can't remember an album this long this good front to back in a long time.

I’ve learned a ton of songs from this album, that one and Cicada’s Song II are probably the most fun to play

I hate that this is too clean and pristine for me to get into. And those aren’t flaws per say, it just needs some spice, some seasoning somewhere. The vocals remind me too much of like, Christian contemporary.

vocals are wonderful but i totally get the needing more spice. they have more yellies in the EP and I hope they're more prominent in the future

Like I said, Christian Contemporary vibes in the vocal department. Just in the timbre and harmonies themselves. Which obviously isn’t my thing. I can’t think of a record with singing like this that I like. The best sections to listen to for me are when no one is singing and it just sounds like indie folk instrumentals. It’s all just so consonant and clean cut though. I can tell with the music video and lyrics and stuff that they put a lot of thought into the whole concept and I respect that. For me, there’s just no thing to give it any kind of edge. I do think the electronics they incorporate are probably the most interesting touch.

the music was fairly class, the vocalist is dime-a-dozen coffeshop dropout
