I met Rudess at Jones Beach. He was all the way at the very end of the common area once you were inside, near the gate to the private parking lot just past the last concession stand. He was literally all by himself, so I approached in a calm and friendly manner. Got an autograph and a photo.
By the way, that is my favorite concert venue of all time.

Yeah, he was really friendly and courteous when I met him too. Same goes for Petrucci, who signed my copy of Images and Words and gave me a DT guitar pick... honestly, I feel like most (if not all) of the DT guys are pretty chill and down to earth. Even Portnoy, now that he's mellowed out over time 😅

I paid for a meet and greet on the DOT tour and had them sign the vinyl for me and again, very cool and down to earth as can be. I had a Yankees hat on and Petrucci literally wanted to talk about the state of the team which was cool as shit lol. Had to keep it quick though cause we had to keep moving. Sat in the front row that night, think I paid $180 so I thought it was well worth the experience.
