that would be an improvement

i would rather them ape nickelback 1:1 than make another fueledbyramencore record
would sound decent if they didn't royally screw up the guitar tone and mix and production and vocal effects (cough)
all you have to do to make radiorock good is not make it bad, why is that so hard?
Enemy of The World is epic [2]

This band is done. Not only because of this dumpster fire of a record, feedback only sort of reaffirmed they have gone down the shitter

Denney had to be so huge in the writing process, and without him they clearly don't have the confidence to do anything on their own.
Sounds like to me though they are just existing to make a lot of $$$. Even if they don't wanna write as a band or have Denney involved anymore, they get could some better writers than this shit.

Just to vent a bit more. They wrote Homesick as a BAND, shit was so huge in the scene when it dropped, and it even went gold eventually. If tiktok and social media had been as big back then that album would've went viral everywhere.
They really gotta reevaluate. Like go back to basics or just end the band

I wonder if they are trying to turn a blind eye to the reception Feedback has gotten. Even Youtube comments are tearing it apart which is not that common.

Caught up on the last few pages of this thread
Bad Vibrations was a definite step down in their material, but it seemed kinda the like natural sort of degradation that happens to bands operating within the space. I don't think anything there really suggested that the band would be collaborating with marshmello then dragging their feet to release.....this
Their attitude and dropoff does also make me question just how their good stuff was actually made. Because, it really shouldn't be that hard to rattle off collections of same-sounding, but quality songs. Hell, Common Courtesy is basically a retread of WSMFY and that album still rules.
You're Welcome is aggressively self-righteous in its bid towards the bottom of the barrel. It's as if they took notes exclusively from Finn McKenty on what a band should do. I don't doubt the band is still financially successful, but they've completely lost their heart or any serious bid towards attention. Instead, they've settled on being another anonymous country-tinged buttrock band where the stakes are only as big as whatever brief nod they give towards a breakdown.
FYS getting the upperhand was not on my bingo card, honestly. I truly thought the band was joever several times from how mediocre ISWSOF was. They had to grind hard and really figure out their identity and joy in music, but they did it and are now pumping plenty of bangers. For my money, their best is still Enemy of the World but it's whatever.
Fuck ADTR lol

Only playing two songs from their recent album on a 23-track setlist is fucking hilarious. They've really dumbed themselves down to a nostalgia act which is honestly the right move here.

i don't think jeremy is capable of singing panhandle anymore if their latest material is anything to go by. dude's voice has dropped like a rock

yeah, that's the funny thing about the macho bravado thing that this band has limply tried to exude for a decade now. It works if you're actually putting out heat, but putting out a song called feedback and barking "IF I WANT YOUR FEEDBACK I'D ASK FOR IT MOTHERFUCKER" is hilarious when the feedback has been "your new shit sucks" and then you proceed to hardly play any of it

Best case scenario for this band:
1. They leave Fueled By Ramen.
2. Rescue Me, Miracle, & Feedback aren't part of a new album. Instead, they're included on a deluxe reissue of You're Welcome, which has an entirely different mix reminiscent of their older works (this remixing includes the 3 aforementioned singles). Shittier retail radio tracks are straight up reworked into something palatable.
3. They lock themselves in a padded cell and listen to FTWHH, Homesick, WSMFY, & Common Courtesy on repeat for a month until they're reminded what A Day To Remember sounds like.
4. Upon release, they hire bodyguards to protect them 24/7 from bad influence writers.
5. ???
6. Self released boomer nostalgiabait comeback album.

if they really wanted to shut everyone up they should've made feedback a disgusting 2nd sucks / life lessons type track
crazy they're out here more or less abandoning their metalcore roots when mainstream metalcore feels as hot as its been a loooooooooong time. sleep token, bad omens, spiritbox, knocked loose (motherfucker).... even bmth are doing harsh vox and breakdowns again.
just ironic to watch these dudes try so hard to sell out when a true return to their classic sound is prob their best chance at landing some more hits

"Self released boomer nostalgiabait comeback album."
The crazy thing is they could pull off an album with songs like "Miracle", "Last Chance to Dance" and "Resentment" and get away with it easily. They don't even have to go back to their roots to be more palatable for all audiences.
