They have Chris fucking Amott on guitar, as well as Johan who wrote some of the best material on Moment. If they can regroup, and allow Chris and John to contribute to the writing, their next album might actually be a huge return to form.

A Drawn Out Exit is their best song since 05' and there are other gems here for sure

I remember reading a while back that Haven was going to be more dynamic and experimental, and with way more clean vocals, than it ended up being. Moment feels like that "lost" album, for better or worse.
Projector's a top-two DT release for me but I don't get the Projector vibe from this album at all (I didn't for Construct or Atoma, either). This is dynamic and atmospheric, but Projector feels cavernous and progressive in comparison.

Is that why you gave it a 2? Lol
First half of this album is really good. I feel like the 2nd half drags a little but there's still solid stuff there

Agreed. As if this is poor. Was my AOTY last year and I listened to hundreds of albums. This user hates everything tho so there’s nothing distinguishable about his rating on this one

gave it 2 cuz it sucks, the cover is just the most notable feature
on the contrary that i didnt give this a 1 makes it distinguished

If you like newer dark tranquillity, you'll probably like it. About the only thing that's changed is that the guitar solos have improved and some are pretty cool. It actually adds a cool touch to their sound they've never really had before

Baby steps for the future hopefully

I need to give the DT discog another run through, I've got Haven & Damage Done down as my favourite albums of theirs.
This is very good though. A little safe maybe, but has everything you want from a more melodic DT album.
