"Alright, so this is obviously a huge technical achievement, however...
I just can't seem to get into it. The heavier songs kind of bore me, and Townsend's clean lyrics seem somewhat trite (the song about the swan's wings in particular). I enjoy the softer instrumentals the most.

Just gotta stick with it, it was a huge grower for me.

The blue ghost is the real masterpiece here.
Not that the rest is bad but this song is like the best thing ever made.It's like the soundtrack to the universe.

I used to think this was pretentious garbage except for a few songs. But it's a grower, and I used to try listen to it in the wrong context. I just hopped on a bus, got comfortable, closed my eyes, and did the whole shebang that way.

That sounds pretty sick. I haven't listened to Kayo Dot nearly as much as motW, but I think I'm going to have to change that soon.
Also, his solo album was pretty good from what I remember.
