oh I am still 100% expecting this album to be AOTY. Even before the tragedy that has happened to them I was. I'm seeing them with August Burns Red and Currents. I am so fucking keen

Based on the singles it won't even be in the conversation for aoty, much as it pains me to say so. I'm a huge fan of these guys but they've hit a bit of a wall with their sound.

Chorus is the worst part as expected, the rest is good to great. It does sound like Jake is singing in a different range than usual which is cool, little more grit in there. The melody is just weak.

Guitarist’s passing aside, new song is a snoozefest. Band always sounded to me like the most vanilla modern core. Comes in one ear and out the other. Doubt the new record is gonna be any more interesting than this, wouldn’t mind being proven wrong though

Hypermania feels like a lightning in a bottle moment from these guys cus nearly everything else I've heard by these guys just pales in comparison, including the new singles.

what really got me in this album was the emotive resonance that really came through in the music, the new songs just feel like from the debut though, fairly mid standard metalcore songs, disappointing
