For sure. They were too safe with their songwriting after Kodama, and I hope that on the next one, they take a couple of risks. I would love to see Neige go full blown shoegaze, but in a manner closer to MBV instead of Slowdive (Shelter more or less tried that already).

Agreed it's really solid but not on the level of their past albums. I just feel like this was really straightforward and some of the sections are pretty flat, especially when compared to Kodama where every second felt like it had intent and emotion behind it.

Still a lovely record.
Weirdly enough, when I'm not listening to this I feel like it's a bit of a letdown, but when I play it again to verify, it's always amazing. Don't know why that happens.
