Copeland was great. Aaron sounds really good live, though the rest of the band kinda felt like they were in the background the whole time.
From Indian Lakes was awesome but the guy running sound was shit. All you could hear was keys, vocals were totally drowned out. But they played two new songs and Joey said new stuff should start rolling out in a month or two

Just wrote my soundoff to this. I've given it several listens and it just isn't clicking with me. The production is infuriating at times, with instruments coming in, blaring, and then disappearing. It often feels like abstract flinging-paint-on-canvas art, which doesn't really work with the vocals and lyrics. The percussion is painfully distracting too.
There's a lot of good stuff here but I'm mostly confused about why they took a surefire 5/5 album and twisted it into this with production decisions that just don't work.

| |
yeah the production sounds chintzy. they probably couldn't afford a better studio to record in

I'm sure they could have. Ixora was absolutely beautiful, but Blushing took that style and tried to push it 10 times harder. I don't think it was an accidental decision on their part, not this far into their career.

"Suddenly" grooves so hard

There are definitely some different production techiques on this but I don't think it necessarily detracts from the quality. Lead guy in Copeland produces for a ton of another artists so it's not surprising there are some zanny and different production aspects

Ixora is crazy boring
This is so good but just too damn cheesy for its own good
