The reverb and overdrive combo he uses is unreal, he runs his Martin D28 acoustic through a valve amp on IFWWW on all of the tracks other than the title track, Rivers, Conrad and All Is Now Harmed. It has to be the darkest, saddest sounding guitar tone I've heard. Muddy, yet piercing. For EOTA he actually put the amp inside a piano to get the natural harmonic resonance/feedback that he was looking for.

One step above would be like B&N or Borders
What's two steps above? F.Y.E?

new tune just strengthens my sneaking suspicion that pretty much all the best songs didn't make the standard album
|
| |
Album Rating: 4.5
Yeah I'm sure he deliberately left his favorite and the best tracks off the album.

the former prolly not but the latter is demonstrably true, just listen to Bird on a Wing again
artists do it all the time it's not some alien concept

As good as Heave Ho and Bird on a Wing are... A Boat to an Island.
