Because metalheads typically go to threads on rappers and just talk shit about rappers and hip hop in general. If you were not trying to do that than I apologize for attacking you

Idk what theads you’ve been looking at but a ton of metalheads on this site love hip hop. Case in point, me and Bloon

in addition to metal I also love hip-hop. didn't care for this guy's music in particular but that's not relevant. I don't see a problem with talking shit about a guy who raped a pregnant woman with a barbecue fork.

I appreciate the apology though.

Yeah, I've been getting more into the genre for the past several years as well. I didn't notice you putting Liquid Swords lower as well so that's also pretty egregious.

Well maybe you 2 like it. I honestly like it when people try to listen to as much genres as possible. I've been on hip hop threads where metalheads just talk shit when they don't even fuck with the artist or the genre in general

That's just people talking about music in general. Most people assert things without even the slightest clue about what they're talking about. That said, those 'metalheads' might not be wrong that a rapper is shit.

Understandable. I can see why people love Liquid Swords but it has never been my favorite Wu Tang solo album. I've listened to it dozens of times to try to hear what others are hearing in it

ODB’s 36 Chambers is the best Wu-Tang solo album, lets be real here

I apologize to all of you that I attacked in this thread.

You all are right X was an awful person. But I do think its still sad that he didn't really get the chance to grow up. I understand that people saying he was redeemable doesn't matter at this point because who knows.

When I was a teenager, I did a lot of bad shit. Nothing on the level of X but if I never got the chance to grow and see the error of my ways and try to turn things around, I would've had these things drag me for a long time.

what the fuck, a sput argument being resolved peacefully? it's a sign of the apocalypse!

sleepys, I apologize as well for being abrasive. I may not agree with your perspective but to an extent I do understand it. it's just that physical/sexual abuse is a very personal subject for me that gets me heated.

I understand. It is actually personal for me too. I was sexually assaulted a lot as a child and my abuser is still alive and doing great. I've learned to live with it even if it has affected me so much and ruined a lot of things in my life. I could understand why people being upset about X's death would bother many that have experienced or know someone that has experienced trauma like this

yeah. in some ways it feels like a slap in the face or invalidation of what the victims went through to see somebody who did the things he did become successful and be mourned as some great artist. it's frustrating.

at the same time I do wrestle with feeling like a bit of a hypocrite because I enjoy bands like Dissection and Emperor who have had actual murderers in them. I guess it's because death and violence is so common in entertainment that it seems less severe than sexual assault, which is still (rightfully) viewed as a very real atrocity. doesn't make it right, but it is something I struggle to reconcile with myself.

The thing is that both of those bands actually have worthwhile releases.
