Opinions are like arseholes. Everyone's got one and they all stink.

I'm inclined to agree with the reviewer more then a lot of the people giving them **** and arguing with the few dissenters. There are really only a few really good songs on this CD. Ride and Justice are both better overall.

I kind of agree with you, though I find Ride worse than this, I find Justice to be much better.

Listen to some Overkill for cryin' cripes sake. Break out the new Testament and Exodus and thrash all about your primary domicile.

What makes you think that's the case? Everyone knows Lars was also really big into Diamondhead and Saxon, etc. Basically the NWOBHM in general, which is what fueled the "wave" we are talking about (thrash).

What that quote is implying is that they didn't care about playing music they liked; Lars just had a business sense and decided what would be best for music in the long run. That's stupid.

I'm not saying they didn't like the Bay Area thrash scene. But what I know of them leads me to believe that mainstream recognition and success was their goal. They could have played a different genre of metal on the same gamble, but they may very well have had faith in their scene being a possible next big thing. Possibly out of their love for Diamond Head.

The more I think about it, I don't think it really mattered what they did. They wanted success bad enough to work for it and would have gotten it one way or another.

Keep in mind also that Steve Harris was being groomed to be a professional athlete himself and very well could have made it. But he decided he'd have a more fulfilling life as a musician. Maybe the same is true of Lars.

In James Hetfield's case, I don't envy him the childhood he had. Perhaps like so many either disillusioned youth he found solace in metal's brotherhood of the outcasts ethos.

Point is, they chose the path they did for whatever personal reasons, but the ending goal was still the same. Whatever pursuit they took up, they had the drive to get exactly where they wanted to be.

I was wondering how long it would take for another gay joke to work its way in. Longer than I thought, actually. Still crowbarred in just as awkwardly as I expected though. This Message Edited On 07.05.08

I never thought the day would come when I offer a high five to a fan of ICP. But hey, I guess the law of averages has to kick in eventually.

Hey, It had to happen sometime, might as well be with the world's smartest juggalo. *Internet High Fives back*

Actually, it was the perfect opportunity. Just as you let your guard down a wee bit and began showing empathy/identifying with this band...of males. I took that as a prime opp. to work in the man-on-man love connection slant....See how comedy works. lol.

That hinges on the assumption that gay jokes are funny.

Anyway, if I were gay, I'd have higher standards and probably be sending love letters to Sir Ian McKellan right now. After I finished getting over my crush on Robert Downey Jr in the wake of seeing Iron Man.

I think it might be a wild Snapper, or even a Portuguese Man Of War.

Let me go further off topic and pose a question that appears, on its surface, to be rather simple, yet no one can answer it for me....Why can't I post comments in the forums? It lets me log on, but once I do, the forum tells me that I don' have persmission to post. Is there a trial period or something. Some kinda initiation that I must pass? Or, might there be some kinda glitch in the system?

decent review though i dont agree with you on a couple things. To be honest the TBT style doesnt really fit well since i get the feeling you could apply this formula to any popular album. --Heres a breakdown and description of each track + "this is bland, or nothing special, or etc"
