I concur that its a weak chorus out of context, but I feel like it absolutely crushes after that second verse. I always thought the point of that track was the contrast between the funeral (for the parents, a crushing event they will never get over) vs the banality of her own sadness (which is never given a causal attribution). I think she captures how silly it feels to be down on yourself when you're affluent and there are people with 'real problems'. So the chorus fits that vibe perfectly
