I don’t remember any CoF fans from when I was young, didn’t even realise it was a ‘thing’ tbh. Different circles/geography dependant I guess.

Depends on which part of the UK you from. There's plenty of CoF fans in London. Essex is a shithole though lol

I’m from London initially but moved when I was 13, don’t think it would’ve even been on my radar at that point.

I mean I was in northeast Missouri. Not exactly metal country.

They were on the cover of all the metal mags around that time. Damnation was a big deal.

I guess I just have to resign myself that I'm not hearing the album y'all are. Right now I feel like Hawks listening to ObZen.

Is it their heaviest album EVAAARRRR Hawks? Heavier than Lord Abortion? Midnight Shadows? Cthulu Dawn? Better To Reign In Hell

This is definitely heavier than at least their first three and at times on par with Midian. Hammer i think felt *heavier* a bit more death-y.

Hammer was definitely heavier. This album wasn't even trying to be heavy imo, it's very melodic, I just find the melodies boring compared to their masterworks which had both aspects in spades.

I (obviously) disagree, but I can see how to some it probably doesn't have the *magic* of their earlier releases.

Isn't Dani like the only original member left?

He's been the only original member since Paul left after Manticore.

It's an entirely different band now which is why I probably can't connect to it

But they've never stuck with many original members tbh.

A bona fide soap opera this timeline.
