K. How many albums in the last 15 years are regarded as most acclaimed of all time? We're deciding that stuff right now. These guys have an album cemented in history for the genre, imo.

Idk I'm starting to think Johnny was right, and I don't agree with Johnny.

"Yeah of the people I know who listen to Brand New none of them know what this place is"

irrelevant since we're talking critical acclaim here and not the band's fanbase, which of course exists outside of sput. and of course the album has been acclaimed by sites and critics outside of sput, but in the grand scheme of things it is definitely not one of the most acclaimed albums of all time. of its decade, maybe, but not all time.

hi i just woke up just saying i still think this is a 5, the nagasaki line is great, my too 3 are "451", "Batter Up", and "Can't Get It Out" but this albums is phenomenal all the way through so w/e and holy SHIT that's a lotta negs i mean i know this review was a lil rushed sure but i wanted to start a discussion while the fire was starting. lol i bet if i gave this a 4 the approval would be like a solid "45/47 thought this review was well-written"

Don't worry about your approval rating. This was bound to happen. People love this band and people love to hate this band.

so is there any other reasons people neg'd besides it's "too soon" orrrr

because that's kinda fuckin stupid if i gave this review to any other album it'd have like one neg but i digress i know it's clearly fucking rushed but when an album this massive comes out there has to be a place to discuss and i did the best i could within time to provide that. w/e it's 3am and i'm just ranting. thank yall for reading at least

@Hell

Yeah I'm not on the "critically acclaimed of all-time" band wagon, I was just saying in my experience most Brand New fans don't know about Sputnik. I kind of missed the main part, I thought db was refering to something else.

Just for the sake of discussion, not necessarily disagreeing outright; I can easily envision a list without it:

(no order, of the top of my dome, going of critical acclaim, not personal taste)

1. Arcade Fire - Funeral

2. Madvillain - madvillany

3. Radiohead - Kid A

4. Interpol - Turn on the Bright Lights

5. The National - Boxer

6. Sigur Ros - ( )

7. Kendrick - TPAB

8. Kanye - MYBDTF

9. Björk - Vespertine

10. Tool - Lateralus

But I can see Brand New sneaking in there as well. Not disputing that it's a popular and influential album.

"fair points maybe not all time but of the 21st century i fail to see it being outside the top ten"

not according to any prominent publication that has published such a list that I've found so far.
