yeah this still rules

The Last of The Monuments is like a callback to their Undoing Ruin/Deliver Us days it's so good.

Maybe it's because I heard this first, but so far, I like this better than Deliver Us.

It's just a matter of preference, I'd say. This leans heavily into their hardcore/metalcore roots, whereas Deliver Us is more melodeath

I think it is mostly the vocals on this that makes me lean towards it. They are pretty beastly.

I don't particularly like some of the clean/gang sounding vocal sections on Deliver Us.

Musically, I like them both a lot.

Hidden Hands is a mess, but still a good album

I hate John's use of clean vocals, so I definitely understand where you're coming from.

Yeaaahhh.... They aren't great.

So, would Hidden Hands and Undoing Ruin would be some other good albums to try out next by them? I started out with this and then got Deliver Us not too long after.

I like his clean vocals. He may not have much range, but they get the job done, well for the most part.

I'd say Undoing Ruin and move up from there.

Yea John's cleans are great. They're not whiney and annoying which is always a plus.

I'd probably go Hidden Hands and then Undoing Ruin, yeah. Hidden Hands is more raw and it doesn't feel very refined but it has some of my all time favorites from these guys. The opener and closer in particular are amazing. Undoing is more along the vein of Deliver Us, very melodic guitar work and it sort of feels like the stepping stone to Deliver Us, but I like it better as a whole than Deliver Us. If you're hoping for more of this particular sound, the closest you're going to get is various tracks across their discography.

Hidden hands is inconsistent but I love it regardless and when it hits, it hits hard. Don't sleep on Judas or sedated either. Undoing ruin is a classic for these guys though.

I've heard this, The Human Romance, Deliver Us and Undoing Ruin so far. Dig all hard except THR that one blows.

Judas and Sedated both have bangers but they feel very samey. Both albums sort of blur by and then just end. The At the Gates worship was a little too hard on those records
