I wouldn't bother with that if I were you Jac. The guitar tone is so thin compared to the original that it's quite depressing to listen to

For me it's pretty solidly Spiritual Migration > Aathma > Core > Truth > Shin-Ken.

I've always thought Shin-Ken was the weakest but with all this love I'm seeing for it I will have to listen again. But it pretty much goes without saying I will be doing a Persefone discog run eventually anyway ;). Spiritual Migration gave me peace that I didn't know I could have until then. It just hits me so right. And to me it is easy listening compared to Aathma. I didn't know what to make of Aathma the first few times, its just so prog, the whole album reminds me of a psychedelic. Although Aathma wasn't really what I was expecting or even hoping for, I think it's just the album they should have made and I've come to be very pleased with it. In some ways it's much more emotional and mind blowing than Spiritual Migration, but so far I still have to give the nod to Spiritual on melodicism and songwriting. Althought Aathma may be a more rewarding listen if doing the entire album, I feel the t/t and Returning to the Source on Spiritual are the weakest tracks while Aathma gains momentum the whole time, though it's a momentum that is much harder to define.

If I didn't have to pick straight favs in a ranking it would be more like

Spiritual Migration/Aathma > Core/Truth > Shin-Ken

I didn't think this would be your cup of tea anyways Flug, but you gave it a go. Proud of you.

My ranking has pretty much flipped. I think Shin-Ken is my favorite, followed by this album.
