eh I see where you're coming from but besides catch fire none of them really bother me

Even "Catch Fire" doesn't rub me too wrong on this. I can see how "Remain Indoors" might seem a little lackluster but I feel like everything on this has a lot of really great energy. I've been jamming "The Way the News Goes" a lot recently.

The first two tracks are just awful. The rest, aside from those mentioned above, are just meh.

I've listened the shit out of that album... guess I just picked out a lot more than some people.

The Way The News Goes was one of my least faves here for a really long time, now it's one of my favorite Periphery songs

That's fair. This album just does nothing for me on the whole. This band has never made an album I've wanted to listen to all the way through. I just pick the handful of songs I like.

Which is so strange for me because, in my mind, they've only written a handful of songs that don't do much. and even those I can find redemption in. In my mind they're the most interesting modern metal band out there.

Well, to each their own I guess. Most of the songs I like are the more progressive stuff or the poppier stuff. The tough guy metalcore style always comes off as forced with these guys. Wish they would focus on hooks, they're really good at that.

As a whole I agree they don't yet really have one consistent album (omega comes closest) but I'd say the songs that I like on this I generally like more than the good songs from the other albums

Booty Disgusting Blood is def the worst on this.

And as pumped as I was to hear a new version of Absolomb, I think the demo version from years back is way better.

Still need to hear the demo. Absolomb is easily one of the best here and I've heard unanimously that the demo is better so i really need to get on that

naw man, it's prog at its finest. This CD doesn't really rely too much on the chugs besides "Motormouth" and "Prayer Position".

Although "Prayer Position" is amazing.
