Production sounds like smth between DE and s/t. I like it, but it would sound much better with KNY's production.

A midnight in-bed session of Gore made me up my rating.

Still not a big fan of PB and Xenon.

Wouldn't say that, just there isn't a song on here that's Entombed or Beauty School level.

If we are gonna compare this to KNY and DE anyway.

Wow, already getting a lot of reviews and over-all they're good ones. Going to play this a on Spotify a bit first before buying.

I do like that album art though.

Hearts / Wires is gorgeous.

Probably going to give this a huge break when PJ Harvey's new record comes out this week, though. HYPE MOTHERFUCKER HYPE.

I'm still deciding on what's my favorite song off this. It's either Hearts/Wires, t/t, or Phantom Bride.

Damnit Deftones y u b so gud!?

"I only really have a problem with the production when it comes to the heavier parts, especially on the title track, Chino's harsh vocals aren't cutting through enough and the song ends up just not having the punch it should have (well, the ending at least packs a punch) I'm guessing they were wanting it to sound this way though?"

Mastering albums like this is pretty much standard practice these days. There's really no good reason for it, and it just causes the music to blend together and sound duller than it should. Go listen to an album like The Black Album by Metallica and note how much punchier the drums are, and how each instrument stands out. (Don't listen to Death Magnetic, that's even worse than this).

Before recently it seemed like the most random albums would be in the best new music category. I'm pretty sure Dystopia by Megadeth was there for months.
