Agreed - while I love that core sound they have, and started with, there's something very special about Polaris. I like it a hell of a lot more than Sonder, at least.

And no worries! I'm happy to report Spiritbox only gets better with time. They're playing their very first shows this week. One in BC, then in Alberta they're playing Calgary, then Edmonton, and I get to catch their Edmonton show this Sunday. Super stoked to see what merch they have. The two primary writers are the husband-wife team who left iwrestledabearonce as that ship was sinking, and this is 1000% more creative and satisfying than that. They've obviously played a ton of shows in their careers in other bands, but these are their first as Spiritbox. Gonna be sick. Opening for Misery Signals.

I may bump this. Phoenix is the only song here I don't really dig. And the front five are fucking spectacular.

Middle section of Phoenix is a beaut. Not so crazy on the "cynical, generations werer abandoned here" part though

It really is great. It's just that the two songs prior sit a bit higher for me.

I'm glad he's in TesseracT just for Seven Names

I loved Seven Names too, but the more I realized the role of production studio tricks the more the magic faded for that one for some reason. It's still a huge belter with great atmosphere and generally an awesome closer. I guess knowing a live performance will sound quite a bit different made this impact?

Yea idk, other ballads by other bands hit me harder, that's all
