It's nothing like I've ever heard. A mess of different genres, but somehow a beautiful mess.
Toby Driver is a genius of so many different styles of music its unreal.

Just wait until you hear Choirs of the Eye, Dowsing Anemone and Hubardo! This is wonderful and has a cohesive atmosphere, but I've always found it a little endearing and clunky how the styles are relatively distinct - he got much better at combining them after this and LYBM

Choirs definitely masters the genre switching that this and LBYM coined but there's something perfectly imperfect and charming about it on this.

"Yup I told someone I didn't know who Toby Driver was and I got torn to shreds."
lol, I remember that.

Haven't been able to get into LYBM nearly as much as this one

It is quite nice, yeah.

This album is like throwing paint at a wall yet somehow, miraculously, that mess of colors creates a beautiful picture.

Definitely rules, always loved the harsher edge of Body Map more though.

Both rule, agreed.

Body Map is definitely more rough around the edges in terms of its sound but it works so well in contrast with this album. I just love the creativity in both. That piano in Gleam In Ranks gets me everytime dude.
Stones of October is also god tier. m/

That's on my agenda for tonight Pleb. I really need to dig deeper into My Fruit Psychobells... I gave it a brief listen but have been far too invested in this and Body Map.

Psychobells has some fucking amazing tracks. Highly recommend listening. Blight of River Systems, Undine and Underwater flowers, Pondering Walls are all good enough to stand against Bath material.

Blight of River Systems is an eternal banger
