Fun fact: This is actually the biggest Einar solo album of their discography. All there other album were more of an collaborative effort than this

Doesn't surprise me that much. Biggest problem with this record is that I think it's too samey, which could be a result of most being written by one guy. The sound this record aims for, and really delivers in songs like 'The Flood' and 'Slave', is amazing.

Same tbh. It's just a tad too samey imo so it's either a weaker 5 or a very strong 4.5

This ''interview'' was a big middle finger for those saying that Pitfalls was Einar acting like a dictator and almost ruining the band.

Pitfalls does sound like an Einar focused album, though. Wild to see it was more democratic than this.

I guess the rest of the guys have gotten so used to Einar running the show that the contributions just naturally happened that way? During the live shows Tor and Robin were playing the keyboards while Einar was singing

Maybe Einar is looked at as the main creative influence, idk. It seemed like the case with Pitfalls...

@CosmicPie. In a sense, I guess neither Leprous wanted to play the same album three times.

Understandable. I can imagine the drive to explore new territory is pretty strong when you're as talented as them. They pull it off... I just wanted some more heavy jams, but whatev.

I also wouldn't be surprised if Pitfalls grew on me more once I get over my unmet expectations. Wouldn't be the first time.

Mastodon's Hunter comes to mind. I couldn't vibe with it at all when it came out. Think it's fun as hell now.
