The phrase was fine, I've just never heard it

I probably won't ever use it, but if someone else does at least I'll know what it means

i love how this album takes everything their debut had, adds to it/makes it 100x more amazing, and somehow gets one less point in its average

Still getting into the genre atm, but a couple I do know (and they're both amazing) are Fatima's 'Yellow Memories' and Ngaiire's 'Blastoma.' And of course I just got those from folks on here haha

gonna throw a couple more in

Esperanza Spalding - Emily's D+Evolution

If you want something that's gonna bring a lot of genres and experimentation to the table but keep a soulful spirit throughout, this is that record.

Anderson .Paak - Malibu

Probably the most mainstream-sounding of all of these, but this guy just bursts with personality. Plus, the instrumentals and songwriting are generally top notch. I have a feeling that he's going to grow to become one of the biggest faces in soul a couple years from now, so make sure to get ahead of the curve.

Charles Bradley - Changes

If you want something that sounds old-school, especially James Brown, you'll love this.

Both of Janelle Monae's albums are some of the best RnB and Soul to come out this decade, her debut especially. She manages to find a sweet spot with her pop sensibility and more out there ideas and concepts.

Lianne La Havas - Blood

An overall solid pop soul album. The poppier tracks on here are infectious and, the ballads are beautiful, and both are wonderful. She really shows off her vocal chops on some of these cuts, like damn
