I used to be so hot on this album but I don't find myself returning to it often rather than its two predecessors

I must've played Panopticon more than any of their other releases to the point it's ingrained into my brain but I get what you mean Aiwaz. I thought ITAOT was somewhat of a disappointment coming after Panopticon cause initially I didn't think it was as memorable like the latter was for me. Also thought the production was too polished up that it didn't sound as pummeling lile the previous 3 albums.

Isis and Mastodon both have three albums that have legit been my all-time favorite at some point. I guess it's all context and the flow of life.

Yeah, context probably played a huge part in how my thoughts on the latter albums shifted dramatically. When I first discovered the band, I listened to the studio albums in chronological order.

@Aiwaz nice to see new folks getting so much emotions from Isis, like it's meant to be. Watch live dvd (i think its called "clearing the eye"), for me its no less than their studio works, lives were absolutely awesome.

@Sevengill nah, you are the sexiest metalhead on sput, nobody can deny that. Have a nice weekend!

I listened to it again yesterday myself and yeah...it dethroned Oceanic as my 2nd favorite Isis album yet I still have it at a 5. Might be time to bump this up finally.

Well i'm finally getting around to listenig to this and wavering radiant after years of only having the first 3 albums. Loving this straight off the bat, not as heavy but so many tranquil moments that just grip you.

I think ITAOT's charm and what makes it stand out on its own is how very serene, almost ethereal the softer, clean passages are in songs like 1000 Shards and Garden Of Light. I'd argue that this was Isis at their most mellowest in that regard.

Yeah, i must say i agree with this review too in that the drums carry so much more personality on here which i really like.

That's what I like about this bands discography though. Every album has its own vibe and they're all different from each other so in any given day you can typically find an album that fits the vibe you're going for. This ones more for mellow days when I'm chilling.

I'll still be listening to Isis as my corpse is being buried six feet under. I'd seriously put in my will to request Garden Of Light to be played at my funeral/burial lol.
