Those two are classics for sure, but Moon is probably my all time favorite album.

I love this album a lot but what's stopping me from believing Moon will be the best album ever is more so that my favorite albums tend to be the ones that leave an impact on me the most, not just emotionally. I mean White Light/White Heat is unimpressive if you just look at it from a song by song standpoint and yet it has some of the most intruiging and interesting concepts i've seen out of an album, and i'm not just saying that cause "it's ahead of it's time" i'm saying that cause that's how i felt when I first heard it.

I like sadboi music, it's my favorite, but I don't pick a favorite off that alone. If I did Remain in Light wouldn't be my favorite album, it would be something else. But I definitely can see Moon being my favorite album, seeing as this debut has some excellent compositions and it has left a mark in a number of ways. I'm just wondering how that mark will expand past those masterworks for me.

Edit : Holy shit sorry this is off topic lmao

Building Nothing and Moon was the major transition for this band, they sort of became a different band in a lot of ways at that time.

Moon is the most sadboi MM album

It's my favorite but I can see how any of their first 3 can be considered their best

I'll definitely check and i'm expecting 4.5 out of Moon, i'm just saying there's fair competition.

I definitely think that the real stars of this album are Lounge, Beach Side Property, The Ionizes and Atomizes, Tundra/Desert, and Talking Shit. Not gonna lie, Novacain Stain and Make Everyone Happy might be with Dramamine just behind those songs too. So many fantastic songs.

I just think Head south and Dog paddle are weak, custom concern is nice lyrically but not as interesting as the other songs and Breakthrough is one of my least favorite. Definitely like the dark creepy parts of this album the most.

I like how depressing custom concern is but it's just a bit too calm compared to the crazy songs, and a bit too mudane compared to the calm songs, to creep me out in the same way

Tundra/Desert > Talking Shit About a Pretty Sunset > Beach Side Property > Lounge > Make Everyone Happy > The Ionizes and Atomizes > Dramamine > Head South > Novocain Stain > Custom Concern > Breakthrough > Might > Exit Does Not Exist > Space Travel Is Boring > Ohio > Dog Paddle

I'm thinking that's my ranking tbh

hard to rank this, as well the other two albums afterwards. the more i listened to this one the more the songs i didnt like grew and felt like a more natural part of the listening experience

dog paddle is easily the worst tho

Yeah some small annoying parts but every track is worthwhile in at least some capacity.
