I change my mind Radiohead doesn't have a best song ever. There.

The movement and evolution of How To Disappear Completely is just beyond anything they've done imo. Not like it craps on all their other stuff because they've made a mountain of beautifully perfect songs, but that one just destroys me every time.

Radiohead does have a best song ever, it's called Paranoid Android. Although, one could make a legitimate case for about 30 other songs they've done.

I'd trade paranoid android for:

airbag

homesick alien

exit music

let down

karma police

climbing up the walls

no surprises

lucky

and that's only one record.

I like Paranoid Android because it's got the intense rocking Radiohead and the chill yet sinister Radiohead all in one. It's so chill, and then it just hits you in the face with that ending guitar solo from Jonny/Ed. But yeah, there are so many legit options. The band truly has an amazing standard of quality throughout.

http://www.bracketmaker.com/tmenu.cfm?tid=389991 for interested parties. i disagree with MANY of the matchups but these were sampled from a large number of big radiohead fans so ...

Yeah buddy, Paranoid Android FTW. Surprised by Idioteque though. Don't know why so many people fap over that song. It's good and all, but they have so many better "electronic" songs.....Everything In It's Right Place, Like Spinning Plates, Backdrifts...hell, even Bloom.

i got the feeling that into the later rounds, voting for idioteque was like voting for kid a and voting for paranoid android was like voting for ok computer (i'm upset idioteque lost). idioteque is one of the most dynamic song i've ever heard -- it's dancehall, it's emo, it's made by an alternative rock band. and it's damn good all the way through.

i disagreed so much with these brackets i had to stop looking at them, but well, we were talking fav tracks so yea.

I really like reckoner's darkhorse run through that tourney... The brackets were set up terribly though, just look at- how to disappear completely vs. codex in the second round. Idioteque vs. fake plastic trees in the first? optimistic vs street spirit, first round? lolllll

Android has so much 'hype' behind it.

what's funny is i don't consider reckoner's run to be a darkhorse at all, and all of those matchups you pointed out were obvious to me. it's really a majority rules thing and as much as i fairly often disagreed with the winner of a matchup, i was in the minority every time.

'my iron lung' over 'talk show host' is a travesty, but i really don't wanna look into it.

'paranoid android' is radiohead's most recognizable symbol -- it's what attracted me to them and i do appreciate it for that

I love reckoner and think it could be the best of in rainbows. I wasn't expecting it to go deep or be that universally loved.

I didn't mean the outcome. I was talking about how in the heck they were playing each other in the first place. Another misstep, karma police vs. lucky in the first round. That's like duke matching up with kentucky in the first round. In all, i thought the initial pairings were a joke.
