'I would hardly call old pianos "unrestrained aggression"'

Well give me a better descriptor and I'll refer to it by that.

I don't mind the change of sound and even love it on certain tracks but as whole this album isn't very strong to me.

This album doesn't have enough variety and feels wayy too long. I still love the vocals as well but they are so much more limited now, some of the melodies start to feel recycled toward the end of this album.

Old pianos was just more aggressive, by no means was that aggression unrestrained, which is what made it all the more enjoyable than this which is just meh

i'd say it was unrestrained, not necessarily aggression though, but maybe more like wailing

"people who don't like this are just butthurt they changed their sound"

I actually remember being pretty excited for this album before it came out when I heard it was going to be all clean vocals as I didn't really like his scream that much, but I still just couldn't get into this.

what scene? if you mean "the wave" then absolutely, the scene mostly has next to nothing to do with 90s emo

this is dull af and doesn't sound like most 90's emo, these post-rock emo albums are more 00's and 10's than anything
