I don't think its on the same level as any vali album or even kveldssanger but its an excellent album. If the songs weren't so repetitive I wouldn't have thought that were a bit long.

I got kind of used to it in the end, there was much more to take in in comparison to the albums you mentioned above. The two tracks which hit me immediately however, were 1 and 5, which didn't require any more listens to click

Only now listened to this when all the hype has died down and, well, it's awesome! I'm actually glad I only got to this now - my listening habits are largely influenced by seasons, and this is much more autumn music than summer music.
