Larkinhill - deadly serious, this was the first and still is the best nu metal, followed by Around the Fur.
Slipknot, Linkin Park and Mudvayne are zero merit for me - fuck ‘em
Particularly dislike Mudvayne who stole most of the Jonny Davis vocal tics, copycat act
All I will say is this is the best nu metal but still only a 3.5

But come on Doofman, LD 50?! Absolute masterpiece front to back. Tbf, I’ve never been a big Korn fan so that’s partly the issue here.

Nothing album beloved by Sput - it’s soooooo derivative to the point of grossness
Gets a 2 out of 5 from me
Maybe if it had come out in 1994 I’d have awarded it a 2.5/3

It came out 9 years after Vulgar Display and 7 after The Korn debut - adds nothing
Nice work if you can get it

Sometimes he gets on a manic roll like that and there's no stopping him except very sarcastic praise.

LD 50 is meh, agreed with Doof

LD50s guitarwork is far better than the guitarwork of this
|

The best thing about LD50 is the bass work, easily. Ryan Martinie is a god. He has a new bass-heavy instrumental prog band called Soften the Glare. Gave me an eargasm

all doof is slighting is the vocals but not the music, he knows it's superior

No one has ever or will ever give two fucks about Mudvayne outside of internet forums or members of the band's close family
We move on

I didnt know that attention was what makes music good as opposed to whether the music itself is good but okay.

For the record they sound too slick and overproduced for the genre
This album and Around the Fur have that raw quality which suits the style best imo
Once you got to stuff as slick as Linkin Park and as cynically marketed as Slipknot I bailed

Indeed doof.

Also, you could have the best music in the world but if an Elvis impersonator sings over it I'm not going to enjoy or respect it- deal breaker

LD50s is great as far as nu metal goes. Vocals are not interesting but neither are most vocalists.
