This album is rough. Rly not much to take away with it, just happy with how much better Dealer and subsequent albums ended up

Old soul, this feels ugly. Quiet skies seem so low. With the ring of the rising tide. Melancholy feels just like me. Alone, ...

Ok, really good stuff! Definitely suffers from first album syndrome here and there, but this is still a great way to kick off the discog. I like those occasional chamber/orchestral elements that creep in, as they bring some extra emotional weight to the music, especially during the more melancholic parts. Quite excited to check out the rest of their work

Onion I’m not saying you’re wrong, just if we’re making some comparisons, and I’ve said this before but I’ll say it again: this and Dealer feel like good companion pieces. NMG is a whole different band basically, DDTM is the pop side of that record, the self titled is the unhinged version of it.

I love when a band takes a big swing with every record.

And I can’t wait to see what they do next

Dealer was a pretty big departure too, though certainly less so than everything that followed. Still think this reigns supreme, but yeah, basically a diff band for every record so it’s kinda weird to compare them

Honestly, that makes me even more excited to check out the rest of their stuff. I have no idea what to expect, and that element of surprise makes the discog run more fun for me
