it's tagged as black metal there but whatever

first of all, even though that link was a joke, their discription says "Sodom - In The Sign of Evil /
Obsessed By Cruelty CD. Reissue featuring two early releases from one of the very first death metal
bands."

second, i NEVER once argued sodom being black metal, in fact i'm probably the most OUTSPOKEN user on
this site about their black metal years and trying to explain to people how they came from a black
metal/proto-death metal beginning

I agree with pissbore. If you read a lot of literature from back then, death, thrash and black metal were used pretty loosely

I don't know of that's still the argument, just going on that last page.

this entire thread is retarded but pretty much shadow asked "whats the first death metal album" and i tried to explain how subjective the question was, and how a number of releases could fit the title, and i named some examples, such as hellhammer - satanic rites, hellhammer - apocolyptic raids, celtic frost - morbid tales, celtic frost - to mega therion, bathory - s/t, sodom - in the sign of evil

now shadow and his pal fearthyevil, apparently had only heard these albums described as "first-wave black metal" in the past (which i do agree is the way i typically describe them) and they couldnt wrap their minds around how non-mutually exclusive the terms were back then, and so commenced 10 pages of argument

and much to the same degree, albums like possessed - seven churches and morbid angel - abominations of desolation can be and certainly were considered black metal albums back then

that was not how i have heard those albums classed in the past

and that is not what my argument was originally based off of

then what the fuck was it based off of? and are you now trying to deny that in the sign of evil is a first wave black metal album?

it was really just a battle between truth and faggotry, and truth has finally emerged victorious once again! hail freedom! hail morbid angel! hail grotesque and the disambiguity of 80s metal! [3]

no i'm not trying to deny that, but you are saying that's how we have heard it classed and i am correcting you

I'm gonna actually keep it going for just a little bit longer because I would ultimately like to keep the uneducated 18 year olds from making retarded, uninformed statements in the future

this was the original point

idk how and honestly idc how it got to here, but before you start throwing that out there, i'd just like to state my case and this is what i didn't like, end of story

I'm embarrassed at the fact you really have to keep shout-boxing me your so called victory. Did you honestly get off to this? Why do you feel the need to constantly inbox me? It's childish and pathetic.

before you start trying to cut out half of the thread, let's go back to how you came in and started douching everywhere in an argument you had no involvement in whatsoever, solely because i dissed your precious suffoqueetion yesterday. that's borderline potsy-level leftover butthurt dude

and my comment about wizard, as insulting as it may have been, is extremely valid in context of the discussion

bro, YOU were childish and pathetic to jump into an argument that i was already outnumbered in and attempt to keep barraging me with futile remarks. notice you STILL have not responded to the article i posted
