Zeitgeist is great, even if it's almost Planet Caravan: Part 2.

Agreed guys. A lot of stuff on this album sounds as if it's part 2 from somewhere but personally I couldn't care less as long as it's done properly.

Well, to me, this is their finest album since their first 6 (?) albums.

Edit: Heaven And Hell is better.

Better than Heaven And Hell and Mob Rules?

Very much agree with you here, although I do consider Zeitgeist to be a little too obvious and forced an attempt to revisit Planet Caravan. An unnecessary weaker spot on an otherwise very successful retread of the Sabbath we all love.

Yeah, that's still a shame. It seems Rick Rubin will keep doing that to any record he produces.

Yeah, agree on that production part, it's like a brickwall of sound sometimes.

Indeed, that's what really annoys me at times.

And because as long as the records he makes sell, who cares if they sound good?

I originally defended this album, often saying all of the hate was simply based off the lack of Bill Ward, but yah...this album is really mediocre and boring after a few tracks.
