I'm not a hater of sample based instrumental hip hop though. You could group all this stuff under the loose banner of "sample based music" similar to how all that music is grouped under emo. That comparison would be apt if people started retroactively referring to Midwest emo as emocore.

Never questioned the genre tag plunderphonics but considering its origination in philosophy (intent + process), I can see why Ghandi might take a hard stance on the topic as it pertains to SILY, which doesn’t seem concerned with anything beyond vibe.
