Demon, yeah. I find most of Muse's work insufferably pretentious. This is just so ridiculous, so off-the-wall, and so fun that I have to believe they either had a lucid moment of self-awareness or they accidentally made a stroke of comic genius without realizing they were joking.

Basically, it's so "so bad it's good" that it's good.

'Basically, it's so "so bad it's good" that it's good.'

That's the only conceivable way I imagine this being acceptable on any level, my 'best Muse' comment was just bait. Except I don't subscribe to that theory, it's just terrible. I was murmuring 'wtf is this' to myself on an alarmingly regular basis. I did laugh occasionally but any enjoyment was wiped away by the cringe-inducing levels of depressingly bad material I was bombarded with, it was relentless.

I expected Bellamy going full-on synth opera cheesiness would at least produce a couple of catchy pop numbers, but the songs are so badly put together that it couldn't even offer that.

I love one part of Big Freeze. That little bendy guitar part that plays out after the solo to the end, I don't know why but I fucking love it.

I'm with ProjectFreak on the merits of this album, though I'm speaking as a fan of their discography as a whole

Better than The Resistance and even more honest I'd say (you know, honest in the Muse way)
