I get why people criticize this so much, though I really can't agree. It some of their best songs, mainly Given Up, No More Sorrow & In Pieces. Ok, it's overtly cheesy at times and lacks some energy, but I don't see too many horrible minutes on this.

It still has some of their best moments, but I get what you're saying. It is everything but imaginative, but looking at the fact that I never hated Shadow Of The Day, just as everyone else on this planet, I seem to have a sweet spot for bland rock or something like that.

~shadow of the day and valentines day are good, but given up no more sorrow are just so fucking bad~
Damn, really? Given Up is like my second favourite LP song. No matter how lazy MTM on the whole is, this is probably their most energetic performance. No More Sorrow is pretty strong too.
Valentine's Day on the other hand...it begins great, but whe he starts to sing the title endlessly it gets just laughable.
Nothing tops Hands Held High on the stupidity scale though.
