also yes Family Business is the best and I still have no idea how he makes "somebody please say grace so I can save face and have a reason to cover my face" hit the hardest every time

Not enough love for through the wire, that's easily one of the best here

"through the wire" is too gripping, just the whole thing of it. really awesome song, the way you can kinda tell it's looping because it's not developing like a source material usually does but that it sounds sorta like uncannily not-like-a-loop

I shouldnt do this but (songs with rapping on them, although "graduation day" and "i'll fly away" are both honestly excellent)

slow jamz>we don't care>last call>family business>spaceship>through the wire>never let me down>all falls down>get em high>breathe in breathe out>two words>jesus walks>the new workout plan>school spirit

Yeah you won't find any argument from me re: slow jamz being the best track. We Don't Care is also my second favourite. Actually, your entire top 10 is similar to mine, except I'd lower All Falls Down.

Lol my gf recently told me Kanye West sucks ass and I sought to change her mind. Made a playlist consisting of: Slow Jamz, We Don't Care, Gorgeous, Everything I Am, Steet Lights, Touch The Sky, and Real Friends - just a small sampler pack of more palatable Kanye - and she now concedes he's awesome. Even though he has so much fantastic material I still often hear people diss him and I always feel like they've never really listened to much other than a single here or there on the radio

hmm yeah I always thought there was something slightly obnoxious about "all falls down" (which ik is weird to say cuz I have this 5d and that as like top 50th percentile so maybe I'd move it down) but it's def sort of classic too yknow? anyways once I saw lauryn hill in corona flushing meadows park in queens and she was like an hour late but she played the song that the singer on "all falls down" is imitating and for a second I was like WOOOO and then that part ended and I crossed my arms again. "mystery of iniquity," initially from her mtv unplugged album

Hatred of Kanye usually results from people hating his attitude and it affecting their listening of his music.

If you can separate art from artist you're fine, but most people can't.

it comes from people who get offended when rappers talk about money/success in general, people who forced other people to listen to Dance With The Devil by Immortal Technique in high school because it's so crazy deep bro like seriously listen to the lyrics, or metalheads
