Vocals are a hit or miss. I love them.

The vocals on this album are bloody awful. He's obvious totally untrained, and his screams on this album sound like the noise my dog made when he accidentally slipped on lino and did the splits.

The vocals are pretty raw and untrained but I like them...a lot better than his new vocal style anyway IMO...

(in response to Steerpike's comment) I wouldn't take it that far, but yeah his screaming sucks. Of course I don't think Shadows' singing was ever good either. This Message Edited On 10.21.08

the point that he's untrained is irrelevant, most vocalists in metal/rock are untrained

So being in rock and metal somehow means that you are somehow unaware of things like music teachers, vocal coaches, and mentors? Whose ass did you pull that out of?

On this album, Shadows had terrible breath control, the worst screaming technique I've ever heard, and any moment of resonance in his voice seemed purely accidental.

This is all moot of course. Self-taught vocalists are only admirable if they're competent. This Message Edited On 10.23.08

Unaware of? I don't know if they're ignorant of them but the majority don't have trainers...

which was my point, and he would've figured that out if he wasn't so busy trying to prove everyone else wrong

I've spent way too many hours arguing over this album. You all, too, will soon learn that.
