I can see why people were disappointed. At first I was too. It took a while to grow on me. In comparison to their previous releases this is more simplified and even more generic, but in the end it's too fun for me to ignore.

Cleans aren't that great, but Tim's screams are still as good as ever.

I actually kinda miss the lows that Lambesis had on the Powerless Rise.

They need to put out a song as heavy as Beyond Our Suffering was, nothing on here is even close to that

I have been kind of wanting to check these guys out. What would you guys consider to be their best?

Cool, listening to some Powerless rise. I like it.

So, these guys are considered metalcore with some melodeath influence?

I have only heard one Killswitch album all the way through, but AILD seems a little more on the intense side compared to them.

This is probably the wrong thread to ask this question in, but what is Scar Symmetry considered then? The only genre tag they have here is Death Metal, but I find that hard to believe from what I have heard (Holographic Universe). Are they just straight up melodeath?

An Ocean Between Us is definitely their crowning achivement for me, one of my favourite metalcore albums for sure.

This record feels extremely contrived in comparison.

Ecnal Bro make sure you check out Shadows Are Security and An Ocean Between Us. I don't think Powerless Rise is as good as those albums.

This album art looks like something a 10 year old would like..

Will do, Storm. I listened to Powerless Rise earlier and I liked it. Got album streams of both of the others bookmarked for later.

lol, all of their album art is kind of like that. They are a little too into having skulls on the cover.

It's about making the time you have alive count because we are all dying at all times. Just sometimes it's not noticeable so you don't think about it. Band is a positive message.
