Andy Latimer is just as good. And I never thought time was where gilmour was at his best.

I like Latimer a ton as well. He's very underrated.

I prefer Hackett overall but both are top 3 prog guitarists along with Gilmour. Those 3 are just so far ahead of the rest in the genre, at least based on what I personally look for in a guitarist's playing.

Well there's Robert Fripp but he's obviously going for something totally different

Yeah he's literally miles behind those 3 for me.

well some peeps think Fripp is too technical or "cold", or something I forget.

Steve Howe is also really awesome though probably not as consistently impressive as those three. He's got that Fripp angular sound at times.

Not really much of a fan of Howe to be honest.

@ fripp all mindbending songs but i have a soft spot for MM you see ;) dont forget spectral mornings and the lamia

and i agree with jamie about the 3 guitarists, they put in way more emotional into the indiviudal note than any other guitarists i've heard tbh.

lifesons me fav due to covering so many different styles without faltering and adapting to the synth sound in the 80s so insanely well is crazy

firth of fifth might be the best solo ever but la villa is right beside it in my eyes

Lifeson's not even close to being my favourite but I think you all knew that anyway.
