no... no it sadly isn't a lie... i listened to it probably 3-4 times a day for the first month i had it and every day going to and from work.. before i got my new computer, itunes had each song counted to up over 250...
i guess phrasing it more like 'i've listened to each song over 400 times' makes more sense.. as an album i've listened to it all the way through probably around 100 times in one sitting.. and other songs that i've liked more than others at certain points.. first it was blindfolds and heretics... recently it's she who mars..
eiiiiiiiiither way i love this album.. but thank you for the info

It can't stack up to Blindfolds Aside or Divine Suicide, but it's still a good (and fun) song.

It's a shame they didn't play that part for longer, actually. It's such a tease.

That's the best part though. PTH pretty much perfected how to keep people wanting more. There's a reason they refuse to play encores.

Yeah PTH seems like they don't give a shit what their fans want or think.

If that passage was longer you would just complain that it goes on too long. Ultimately they're making music they want to make, not necessarily what people want to hear. If you, as a musician, can leave your fans wanting more, you've succeeded. You make it sound like they're selfish rockstars but ultimately they're just artists doing what they want musically.

I didn't mean to make it sound that way...

i know it just seemed a little finger-pointer-eee.
the no encore thing started mostly with luke. they used to play encores but then one day luke threw a fit and was like "I THINK WE SHOULD LEAVE THEM WANTING MORE", so they played a really fast cover of NOFX's Linoleum as an encore and went off stage.

Sometimes I think Heretics isn't good, then I randomly find myself listening to it and enjoying the shit out of it. I think if it was without the clean parts it would be way better, but then it would be an entirely different song and the distorted parts would falter.

Musically this is a 4.5 for me, the extra .5 is just based on the effect this album had on me when I got it (I still remember it to this day. Got it at noonish on August 30, 2005. Jokingly said in the car "lol imagine if they thanked us?" and then they did. Listened to it at my buddies house a few times, then went down to a CD release party, blablablayadayada. I was shocked to hear the solo at the end of "blotch" she who mars was gone, and i was so anxious to hear how the intro to Plateful would sound knowing that live they could only somewhat replicate it with moe tapping on the edge of his kick).
