Pfft.. fuck the whole "just regions that speak the same native language" (especially since I speak English almost more 'natively' than German)

also: THE MUSIC, MAN. VOCAL HARMONIES AND SHIT. TOUCHES THE DEPTHS OF MY METAPHORICAL HEART (OR BRAIN).

i know, wasn't saying that. my point was they were also an act (another dream pop one no less) hyped by p4k and hence hipsters last year...which didn't put me off.

Why should it put you off at all though?

If yall like Grimes, you should also check out iamamiwhoami if you haven't already. If you've ever searched for youtube just by typing the letter y and clicked on the first video that popped up, you've already had a taste ^.^

Agreed. I mean who cares whether hipsters like/hype that stuff or not? I mean, there are some idiots that associate and equate everything with everything but as said - they're idiots. Who cares.

@ fish i generally tend to dislike the kind of stuff they hype, so i usually avoid it.

wolf i agree man. i mean, it's not like i'm gonna stop loving beach house because hipsters like it.

Well, generalizations are pretty inappropriate for things of versatile, subtle or specific nature so yeah. I'd also try not to let shitty communities or reviews/reviewing styles you may dislike deter you from checking things out.

well yeah. maybe avoid was the wrong word, but i tend to overlook them as something i prolly wouldn't dig which has proven to be the case more often than not.

I'm just saying, giving a couple of songs on YT as spin for maybe 12 minutes or so isn't going to be 'wasting your time'. You can still decide whether you actually want to hear the full LP.

i actually did, and didn't really like...which made me overlook the rest of the album for the reasons i mentioned. now i'm thinking of giving the full album a shot since i trust y'alls opinions.

90% of the stuff pitchfork hypes I find excruciatingly boring but occasionally they come up with some really good stuff and they're good as an alternative to this site of tracking going ons in music

Heh, I guess your mood or mentality or something alike might also influence your reaction. Guess that's why I didn't even bother with the LP after listening to the first single some months ago. But either way, have at it and hope you'll get more out of it this time.

And what fishy said.
