Ahhh Textures! I was on vacation and pretty drunk out of my mind and met this Dutch ex-pat here in Canada talking about seeing them a bunch of times and catching their last show ever. Was super jealous. Made me remember about them for the first time in ages. Very consistent output but, yeah, Silhouettes and Drawing Circles are my favorites too. "Awake" is special to me.

yeah kinda bummed about missing their last show, they've honestly made such great records

Awake is one of my favourite songs ever. I remember seeing them in Toronto a while ago sadly after the good singer left and no one knew who they were lol

Never knew they broke up, but I don't blame them after that last album.

Yeah they got really bland after Silhouettes

Awake is a stunning song. Their first album with the new singer was actually pretty damn good tbh, but they got kind of bland after that.

True. Did another full listen while on a 5 hour drive yesterday. It just kinda...never gets old. Neither does listening to the same thing in "Finale' for 4 straight minutes before it starts to fade. Re-discovered the B-side ambient tracks again the other day too! Everything about the vibe they were going for here was nailed and never quite matched again.

first two tesseract albums are pretty sweet

If by djent you mean Meshuggah's clones then yeah probably. Polymorphic Code by The Algorithm and Meta by Car bomb are good too.

Gotta hear this in full again, record is cool. I hope they remix/re-record it sometime, this would be supercool with more organic production. I'd buy that

"also fuck periphery" [2]
AAL debut is solid. Not keen on JiM tho.
