this and Two Hunters are borderline masterpieces. Diadem is awesome as well but i just don't feel like returning to it as much as those 2. Haven't heard Malevolent Grain, and Black Cascade is solid as fuck but pretty much that entire album tends to blend together. I can't really differentiate the tracks on that thing, sound-wise.

Listen to some Ash Borer and Fell Voices. They blow WITTR out of the water.

This, at its worst sounds like a failed attempt at trying to copy Two Hunters

This is undoubtedly my favorite album of the year!

Wolves is one of my all time favorites. I've seen them live, and I have two of their records on vinyl (including this one). I always get lost in their music. Their cryptic wall of sound is both haunting, beautiful, and surreal at the same time. This album is no exception to these traits.

The arrangements seem to be much more developed this time around. Especially the female vocals. Contrary to what the review said, I feel that Woodland Cathedral was the strongest point of the album. The minor second harmony between the C and D flat about half way through the song sends a shiver down my spine every time I hear it.

Don't get me wrong, I love the static harmony and hypnotic use of repetition that Two Hunters is known for. I love Two Hunters just the way it is. That was the album where they really discovered their sound. This album portrayed that same sonic aesthetic through more developed song structures. I might even argue that they perfected their sound through this record.

This album is a CLASSIC in my eyes!

Why would anyone let wolves in a throne room? And if they didn't let them in, how did they get there?
